1978 Chateau La Tour Figeac Saint Emillon Grand Cru Classe
Chteau La Tour Figeac was separated from Chteau La Tour du Pin Figeac in 1881 after both were divided from Chteau Figeac in 1879. Located east of Chteau Cheval Blanc and south of Chteau Figeac, Chteau La Tour Figeac has 14 hectares of vineyards on a terroir of gravel and clay sands in the Saint-milion Grand Cru appellation. Chteau La Tour Figeac was purchased in 1973 from Franois Rapin by a German industrial family, the Rettenmaiers. Otto Maximilian Rettenmaier arrived at Chteau La Tour Figeac in 1994 and converted the estate to biodynamic farming in 1997. Christine Derenoncourt is the technical director of the chteau, while her husband Stphane Derenoncourt acts as a consultant for vineyard management and winemaking.
