The second entry in the Ardbeg Anthology series offers a vibrant, citrus forward take on this iconic single malt with notes of lime zest, soft fruits, menthol and sweet peat. This combination of flavours was achieved by maturing Ardbegs instantly recognisable spirit in bourbon barrels and Madeira casks. The aromatic spiciness and bright acidity of this Portuguese fortified wine brings a welcome freshness to this heavily peated single malt that runs from the palate through to a long, smoky finish.
A beautifully presented whisky with artwork featuring the fabled Islay unicorn which depending on who you ask may or may not have been a Shetland pony with an ice cream cone on its head.
Introducing the second legendary edition in the Ardbeg Anthology Collection. Matured for 14 years in a marriage of aromatic Madeira and classic bourbon casks, this rare Ardbeg is inspired by the tale of the lesser-spotted Islay Unicorn.
One dark night after a fte at the Distillery, the clip-clop of hooves was heard echoing around the yard. Those less swayed by mythical tales will tell you it was Rory, the Distillerys greedy Shetland Pony known for his ill-temper and devilishly sweet tooth. Others believe something else was afoot.
