Ardmore Distillery was established in 1898 by Adam Teacher, the son of William Teacher of the Teachers blended Scotch brand. Unusually for a Highland distillery, Ardmore uses lightly peated malted barley for its characteristic gentle peat smoke the same peat influence that gives Teachers its distinctive Highland character.
