The Rosales family produces ArteNOM Blanco Histrico 1123 in El Arenal, Jalisco at their renowned Destilera Cascahun from lower-brix valley agave that are the hallmark of the Lowland tequila style: earthy, vegetal, herbaceous, and slightly peppery. This seleccin is made from those valley plants which, once distilled into tequila, are barrel-conditioned for 21-28 days in brandy casks that previously held Oaxacan mezcal, such as high-end blanco tequilas from the Tequila Valley were sometimes prepared in the early 1900s. For this reason, this expression is referred to as a Blanco Histrico.
Mexico – 43% – Mexico- 100% Valley-grown Blue Agave blanco tequila, barrel conditioned for 28days, for a historic, delicious soft agave flavor. It has a wooded, soft agave sweetness, with notes of minerality, caramel and cooked agave.
Roasted pineapple leads immediately, layered with warm butter and baking spices. Deeper passes reveal smoked pepper, wet mineral notes. The entry is viscous and cooked-agave sweet, with baked pineapple and honey melting into hot cinnamon and black pepper at mid-palate. As the flavors develop, sweet potato, vanilla, licorice, and a distinct hardwood smoke emergea clear echo of those mezcal-seasoned casks. Medium-long with an ashy, anise-tinged fade that gives the tequila an almost mezcal-like quality. Lingering cinnamon warmth and almond sweetness close things out cleanly.
