On the nose light and delicate, with lots of sea air and bandages, but almost no peat or smoke. Perhaps the peat has just vanished? Lots of leather, vanilla, grilled nuts, old walnuts Tons of secondary aromas. How complex! Some great passion fruit and kiwi too. The mouth paraffin, water, dust, old turpentine, cold tea and very old sweet wine and medium long finish.
A very rare investment-grade bottle of 1902 vintage Highland Park which is probably the most important release from this distillery available today. It was bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd way back in 1952 at 50 years old. This bottle has been carbon-dated at Oxford University and is supplied with a copy of the authentication paperwork. It has also been abv tested by the distillery at 39.8%. Also included is a small sample bottle so you will actually be able to taste this extremely rare Whisky without affecting the value of your bottle.
