An award winning whiskey, Jim Murray has released this as his World Whisk(e)y of the Year 2016.
This limited, one-off release was created by Fred Noe the current Master Distiller at Jim Beam, Fred is the son of “Booker” Noe and the great grandson of the “Jim Beam”, making him the seventh generation Beam family distiller.
Bookers Rye is a tribute to Booker Noe, the legend who served as longtime master distiller for the Beam brands and founded their Small Batch Bourbon Collection (including Bookers Bourbon and Knob Creek). Put in the barrel back in 2003, the new Bookers rye was among the last barrels laid down by Booker Noe in the final years of his life. Amazingly, Bookers has never released a rye in all those subsequent years.
