The light character of the 12 Year Old Cardhu is an excellent starting point for anyone starting on their whisky journey. Enticing and silky smooth, this is the quintessential Cardhu. Glowing with notes of golden honey and delicate, fruity character. Cardhu comes from one of the oldest of the Speyside distilleries, which have nestled in foothills near the River Spey for 200 years and the Cardhu range is an excellent representation of these Speyside whiskies.
Cardhu (which means “black rock” in Scottish gaelic) is a Scottish single malt whisky distillery based just outside the hamlet of Knockando, west of Archiestown, in the Speyside region of Scotland between Aberdeen and Inverness.
This is arguably the finest expression of whisky, made at a single distillery from malted barley, water and yeast. The style is most closely associated with Scotland. Indeed, Single Malt Scotch Whisky is highly collectable and is easily one of the world’s most revered liquids, with many examples held in equal esteem with the world’s top wines.
