Founded in 1983, Charbay Distillery & Winery is owned and managed by Master Distiller Miles Karakasevic, his wife Susan, son Marko, and Markos wife Jenni. The Karakasevics are considered pioneers of the American artisan distillery movement a family with a long line of distillers dating back to 1751 in the former Yugoslavia. In 2009 Marko became the familys 13th-generation Master Distiller. Charbay is based in Napa Valley on Spring Mountain above St. Helena, California.
