The 2022 vintage has an opulent nose of black fruits. The mouth is full of freshness and gourmandize. Haut-Mdoc Giscours 2022 has the emblematic character of Giscours wines: structure, aromatic brilliance and fine tannins.

The 2022 Le Haut-Mdoc De Giscours from this terrific estate has a pure, medium-bodied, nicely concentrated yet elegant profile with lots to love. The fruits lean toward the blue/black end of the spectrum, and it has some leafy, tobacco notes, fine tannins, and a good finish. I’d happily drink a bottle.

The 2022 Haut-Mdoc de Giscours is a gorgeous, wonderfully inviting wine. Cinnamon, orange peel, cedar, white pepper, mint and chalk add lovely aromatic dimension. This is the first vintage with a dollop of Cabernet Franc in the blend, which really seems to open the aromatics. Time in the glass brings out the wine’s fleshiness. This gracious, silky Haut-Mdoc is an absolute delight.

Generous and medium-bodied on the palate, showing lovely fluidity and firmness without any heaviness. 55% cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot and 6% cabernet franc. Already appealing but better in two more years. Drink from 2027.
