Coppercraft Distillery is located in Holland, Michigan. Founded in 2012, Coppercraft was created as a tribute to the American Craftsman who took pride in the quality of their work. They hope to instill the same heritage from the industrious workers into the production of their spirits. Coppercraft Distillerys Rye Whiskey is bottled at 90 proof. The small batch rye whiskey is a blend of Coppercraft 2+ year old distillate and sourced rye barrels.
The nose has a predominant butterscotch note when the whiskey enters the glass. Sweet vanilla cream and rye spice round of the nose. The sweeter butterscotch notes come out of the first sip. That butterscotch is replaced by a warm mocha flavor. By the third sip, the rye spice becomes the predominant flavor. The finish is unique to a rye whiskey, a lingering coffee note sits in the middle of the palate. A quick hint of mocha enters and then the finish is over.
