Critical Acclaim

The 2014 Echzeaux Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet: dark berry fruit, loam, forest floor and truffle scents, expressive once given rigorous aeration (though decanting would benefit the aromatics no end.) The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, mainly black fruit laced with graphite and tar, with hints of licorice towards the end. This has reached its plateau, yet it has the substance to continue aging for a long time.
