In 2013, Maestro Mescalero Don Ambrosio Martinez Blas created Mezcal Artesanal El Samaritano in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca. The name was inspired by a festivity known as “La Samaritana,” which is celebrated on the fourth Friday of Lent. The celebrationhas deep roots in Oaxaca and has a significant role in the identity ofEl Samaritano Mezcal.
