The Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage program began in 1994 and was the first American distillery single barrel vintage program to carry a specific bottling date on each bottle. The 1989 vintage draws on spirit distilled in 1989 and bottled after the program launched, making the September 28, 1989 dump date one of the earliest bottlings in the programs history.
Three 1989 vintage Evan Williams single barrels are currently in the Wooden Cork collection Barrel 130 (9-28-1989), Barrel 32 (11-27-1989), and Barrel 8 (8-26-1988 vintage, different year) forming a rare multi-barrel vintage set from the programs earliest era.
