2025. Winter Blend. Reposado. Fortaleza the annual limited release from Tequilera La Fortaleza in the Jalisco highlands, one of Mexico’s most respected traditional tequila producers and a benchmark for additive-free, tahona-milled production.
Fortaleza produces tequila using a tahona a large volcanic stone wheel pulled by a horse or donkey to crush roasted agave a method that predates modern mechanical shredding and produces a thicker, more textured agave pulp that carries more fiber character into the fermentation. The distillery in Tequila, Jalisco has operated continuously since the 1870s under the Sauza family’s heritage, though the current Fortaleza brand was reestablished in 2005 under Guillermo Sauza.
The Winter Blend is Fortaleza’s annual limited release a specific barrel selection or batch configuration that distinguishes it from the standard Reposado production. The 2025 edition continues the program’s annual cadence.
