Fuenteseca Reserva Extra Aejo 21 Year is produced by Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca at NOM 1146 in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco one of the oldest aged tequilas in regular commercial production. From 100% Blue Weber Highlands agave, aged 21 years in a combination of American and French oak barrels. This duration far exceeds the three-year legal minimum for Extra Aejo designation.
Twenty-one years in oak is extraordinary for tequila. The Extended aging transforms the spirit dramatically from any standard tequila profile the agave character that defines blanco and reposado expressions has largely given way to deep oak, dried fruit, and the complex oxidative notes that only decades in barrel can produce. Fuenteseca Reserva 21 is among the longest-aged tequilas commercially available, and is specifically produced by Enrique Fonseca, one of the most decorated tequila producers in the Highland Jalisco region.
Nose: Dried fruit, dark chocolate, toasted oak, vanilla, and caramel. Palate: Rich and complex aged agave, oak, dark fruit, and coffee. Finish: Exceptionally long, warm, and woody.
