Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Gold Rum. Worthy Park Estate, Saint Catherine, Jamaica curated by Ed Hamilton, a blend of extra light, light, and heavy pot still rums from Jamaica’s oldest continually operating distillery, lightly colored with gold tint caramel only, with no added sugar or sweeteners.
Where the Hamilton Jamaican Pot Still Black is deeply colored and formulated as a bold mixing rum for tiki classics, the Gold is Hamilton’s Worthy Park expression for those who want the same authentic pot still character in a lighter, more versatile form. The same base distillate extra light, light, and heavy pot still rums from Worthy Park Estate’s molasses fermentation is used, but the Gold is finished without the heavy black caramel, receiving only a light gold tint for color. No sugar is added at any stage.
Worthy Park Estate has grown sugarcane and produced rum on the same site in Saint Catherine, Jamaica since 1670 over 350 years of continuous operation. The estate runs its own sugar mill, fermentation, and distillation entirely on-site, making it one of the most fully integrated rum producers in the Caribbean. The double-retort copper pot stills produce a distinctly funky, ester-rich spirit that carries Worthy Park’s unmistakable banana and tropical fruit signature. Ed Hamilton’s Gold bottling presents that character at 46.5% ABV high enough to perform in cocktails, honest enough to sip neat.
