This comes from Bacio Divino, which has been crafting wines under that label for some years. The consulting winemaker was the veteran Nils Venge. The wine is dry, full-bodied and very ripe, showing classic Napa cassis flavors wrapped into superfine tannins. As good as it is, one wonders what sets it apart from all the rest.

The brilliant 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon To-Kalon Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, and a style similar to the Cloudys Vineyard, with more complexity as well as subtle toast, cedarwood, fruitcake, black currant, and high class, unsmoked cigar tobacco characteristics. The sweetness of the tannins, the richness and expansiveness in the mouth, the layered texture, and long, silky, tannic finish are all impressive.
