Port Ellen Distillery on the southern shore of Islay was one of the island’s most celebrated distilleries before its closure in 1983. Its remaining casks are a finite, irreplaceable resource. The Ghost & Rare series was created to explore the flavour of irreplaceable spirits from a small number of iconic closed distilleries. The result layers creamy vanilla sweetness with rolling waves of waxy citrus, rich malt, and tropical fruit all balanced by the distinctive maritime smokiness of Port Ellen that lingers in the long, warming finish.
