Opus One was founded as a joint venture between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild (Chteau Mouton Rothschild) in 1979 a collaboration that brought together Napa Valley’s most celebrated winemaker and Bordeaux’s most prestigious estate in one of the most ambitious projects in American wine history. Overture is the estate’s second wine, drawing from the same vineyard blocks and the same winemaking team, but presenting a different expression of the estate fuller, more accessible, and multi-vintage blended for approachability.

Overture uses the classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from the Opus One estate’s Oakville Napa Valley vineyards, aged in French oak barrels.
