Rmy Martin 1738 Accord Royal is a Fine Champagne Cognac named for the year King Louis XV of France granted a royal privilege to Rmy Martin in recognition of the quality of his wines and spirits distinguishing it as the house’s tribute to a moment of royal endorsement that no other cognac producer can claim, matured in specially toasted French oak casks that produce the warm, rich, and creamy profile that sets it apart from the standard VSOP.

The 1738 Accord Royal was created to fill a specific gap in the Rmy Martin range: between the approachable VSOP and the more complex XO, a cognac with the warmth and richness that extra oak treatment develops but without the full complexity of extended aging. The toasted French oak casks used for 1738 differ from the standard Limousin oak used across most Rmy Martin aging toasting caramelizes the wood’s inner surface, releasing additional vanilla, caramel, and toffee compounds that transfer to the cognac more readily than the slower extraction from untoasted wood. The result is a rounder, warmer, and more immediately generous character than the standard VSOP at a similar age. Fine Champagne designation requires the blend to contain at least 50% Grande Champagne, the premier Cognac cru.
