Habitation Clement occupies one of Martinique’s most historically significant estates Domaine de l’Acajou, purchased in 1887 by Homre Clment, the mayor of Le Franois, at the peak of the island’s sugar industry collapse. Rather than abandon the plantation, Clment transformed it into a rhum agricole producer, distilling directly from freshly pressed sugarcane juice in the style of the great French brandies he had admired during his studies in Paris. That decision created the Clment legacy and helped establish Martinique’s identity as the home of the world’s finest rhum agricole.

The VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) is Clment’s entry into the aged range: a minimum of four years across two cask types.
