Tanqueray has operated from Cameronbridge in Scotland since Charles Tanqueray founded the London distillery in 1830 a tradition of distilling expertise that Sterling carries into the vodka category. The 220-year-old copper pot still (the same still family used for the Tanqueray gin program) produces a different character than the high-efficiency column stills used for most premium vodkas more textured, with a subtle complexity that clean neutral-spirit vodkas don’t achieve. The spirit is cut with water after the final distillation to reach either 80 or 100 proof, with the resulting vodka carrying the smooth, balanced profile that distinguishes pot still distillation from column-still production.
