The Classic Cut 2019 uses exclusively European sherry-seasoned oak the most traditional Macallan cask approach and the one that produces the deepest natural colour, most concentrated dried fruit, and dominant sweetness. The 2019 uses exclusively European sherry-seasoned oak for dominant sweetness. The 2020 combined European sherry oak and American bourbon oak for a vibrant vanilla and orange profile. The 2023 used American and European oak for a distinct pear character. Each annual edition is a meaningfully different expression from the same series.
