Vaughn Duffy Old River Red Cuvee III
The Old River Red Blend is a wine that makes its presence known from the first sip. The Zinfandels red berry and floral notes give the wine its fruit-driven core of flavor and pretty aromatics. The Petite Sirah provides a juicy plum character to add complexity as well as inky color and chalky tannins for depth and long-term aging. This is a wine to pair with heartier foods and should go great with rich pasta dishes or your favorite barbeque-sauced chicken or baby back ribs. 65% Zinfandel, 35% Petite Sirah.
Old River Red is a Red Blend that changes a little bit from one bottling to the next. This is the third bottling of Old River Red hence it is called Cuvee III. It is made of wine from multiple years and therefore is a non-vintage wine. However, the wine is terroir-driven since all the grapes come from a single vineyard — The Poor Ranch in Mendocino County. The vineyard is organically farmed with diverse mountainous soils.
